Chef Manager

Berkeley Scott is recruiting a temporary Chef Manager to oversee kitchen operations in Nazeing and surrounding areas, starting September. This agency role, paying between £18.00 and £24.00 per hour based on experience, involves managing daily catering functions across schools and hospitality venues. The position demands strong leadership and organisational skills to coordinate teams, maintain food quality, and ensure compliance with health regulations. Key responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of busy kitchens
• Leading, motivating and supporting kitchen teams
• Planning and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety and allergen standards
• Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
• Ensuring kitchens operate efficiently and meet client expectations

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar kitchen management role
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable
• Two satisfactory references
• An Enhanced DBS certificate
• The right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential
