The Chef Manager role is based in Bedford and involves overseeing kitchen operations across schools and hospitality settings through temporary agency assignments starting in September. This position offers a competitive hourly rate between £18.00 and £24.00, dependent on experience and the end employer. You will manage daily kitchen functions, lead and support kitchen teams, and ensure efficient service delivery across multiple sites. Strong organisational abilities and leadership skills are essential for maintaining high standards in varied catering environments. Berkeley-Scott is recruiting experienced Chef Managers to join our agency team for exciting opportunities across schools and a variety of catering businesses in and around Bedford starting in September. If you're an organised and motivated hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy flexible agency work while managing kitchen operations across a range of sites.
Key responsibilities:- Managing the day-to-day running of busy kitchens
- Leading, motivating and supporting kitchen teams
- Planning and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety and allergen standards
- Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
- Ensuring kitchens operate efficiently and meet client expectations
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar kitchen management role
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable
- Two satisfactory references
- An Enhanced DBS certificate
- The right to work in the UK
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential
- Flexible agency assignments to suit your availability
- Competitive hourly pay of £18.00-£24.00 , depending on experience and the end employer
