About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced Chef to be a part of our busy kitchen team. This is a 160 seat Restaurant / Coffee Shop within the Fenwick retail store of the Royal Victoria Centre serving Classic Seasonal British Cuisine & Main Course Salads. From Eggs Royal to Fully Loaded Burger to Beetroot Salad w Za'Atar Spice. In addition, Cakes, Brownies and Pastries and lighter bites to accompany a coffee or a more elaborate Signature Afternoon Tea.
Location: The Eatery Fenwick Canterbury
Working Hours - 0 hour contract covering summer Holidays, Monday to Sunday availability needed.
Your key responsibilities as a Chef will be :- Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes in line with our food standards and style.
- Contribute creative menu ideas to the Sous Chef and Head Chef.
- Follow weekly rotational menus, ensuring all menu items are prepared consistently.
- Support the Sous Chef in supervising, coaching and developing the kitchen team.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment at all times.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health & safety, COSHH and fire regulations.
- Assist with stock control, reducing wastage and working within agreed food cost budgets.
- Complete accurate month-end stock takes in a timely manner.
- Lead by example, promoting teamwork, professionalism and mutual respect within the kitchen.
- A passionate chef with a strong commitment to producing exceptional food.
- Experience working in a busy, professional kitchen environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to supervise, motivate and support other team members.
- A good understanding of food safety, health & safety and kitchen compliance.
- Strong awareness of stock management, food costs and minimising waste.
- A positive attitude with a collaborative, team-focused approach.
- Reliable, proactive and able to perform well under pressure.
- A willingness to contribute ideas and continuously improve standards.
