Job Title: Chef
Location: Reading
Contract: Permanent, 30 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 2:00pm
Rate of Pay: £15.00 per hour
Are you an experienced Chef looking for a rewarding role in a professional corporate catering environment? Sodexo is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic and customer-focused Chef to join our team at Johnson Matthey in Reading.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within a busy, client-facing environment, delivering high-quality food and exceptional service to staff and guests while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and customer satisfaction. You will play a key role in supporting daily catering operations, contributing to hospitality services and ensuring an outstanding dining experience for all customers.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and present high-quality meals, ensuring excellent food quality and customer satisfaction.
- Deliver catering and hospitality services in line with client and company standards.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety, allergen management, hygiene and health & safety compliance.
- Support kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering systems and monthly stocktakes.
- Complete all required due diligence records, including temperature checks, production sheets and allergen documentation.
- Work collaboratively with the wider catering team, supporting training, special events and the smooth running of daily operations.
- Previous experience as a Chef within a busy, customer-focused catering environment.
- NVQ Level 2, 706/2 Chef qualification (or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of food safety, allergen management and health & safety requirements.
- Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
- A proactive, flexible approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and high standards of food quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with confidence using catering management and computer-based systems.
