The Chef position in Reading, offered by Berkeley Scott on a temporary basis, involves preparing, cooking, and serving nutritious meals across education and healthcare settings. - Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and allergen legislation at all times
- Cater for dietary requirements, allergies, and nutritional guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment
- Support with menu planning, stock rotation, and waste control
- Assist with service delivery during peak mealtimes in busy environments
- Proven experience as a Chef (CDP, Sous Chef, or similar) - ESSENTIAL
- Experience within schools, care homes, hospitals, or contract catering is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of nutritional standards and special dietary needs
- Level 2 Food Safety (minimum) or willingness to obtain it
- Enhanced DBS - ESSENTIAL
- Ability to work efficiently in structured, compliance-driven kitchens
- Reliable, professional, and adaptable
- Driving licence preferred but not essential
