Chatbot Engineer (IBM Watson)
Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Chatbot Engineer with hands-on expertise in IBM Watson Assistant to support the development, optimisation, and ongoing evolution of the TOBi chatbot platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in agile environments, collaborates well with global teams, and can turn business requirements into high-performing conversational experiences.
Contract DetailsStart: ASAP
Duration: 6-month contract + extensions
Location: 100% remote
Engagement: Work closely with cross-functional global teams in an agile setup
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and enhance chatbot flows using IBM Watson Assistant
Translate business and technical requirements into effective conversational journeys
Maintain, debug, and optimise chatbot behaviours for performance and accuracy
Ensure reliability through structured testing and iteration
Contribute to agile ceremonies and align closely with distributed teams
Required Skills & Experience
Proven commercial experience developing with IBM Watson Assistant
Strong understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and conversational design principles
Proficiency in debugging, testing, and optimising chatbot interactions
Experience working in agile environments and using version control tools (eg, Git)
Collaborative mindset and ability to work with global stakeholders
Nice-to-Have (Optional)
Experience with other chatbot frameworks
Knowledge of customer service automation platforms
Familiarity with multi-language chatbot deployments
