CFO PE-Backed Professional Services Group (Buy & Build to Exit)

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-backed Professional Services business operating in an attractive, resilient market. The business has scaled to in excess of £10m EBITDA, is backed by a highly regarded private equity investor, and is now entering an ambitious Buy & Build phase, targeting a tripling of EBITDA through organic growth and strategic acquisition, ahead of a planned exit.

The Board is seeking a seasoned CFO to lead this next stage of value creation, working in close partnership with the CEO, Board, and PE investors.

The Role

The CFO will take a lead role across the acquisition strategy, evaluating opportunities, leading financial due diligence, deal execution, funding, and post-deal integration, working closely with the Board, investors, and advisers throughout. Beyond M&A, the CFO will bring commercial and financial insight to the existing business, driving performance improvement and identifying further value creation opportunities across the group.

Essential

• Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA)
• Proven track record as CFO within a PE-backed business
• Demonstrable experience leading M&A end-to-end: evaluation, due diligence, deal execution, funding, integration
• Background in professional services, legal services, B2B services, or a related people-led/service-based sector
• Experience supporting a Founder-led business through professionalisation - governance, reporting, systems, and process maturity

Desirable

• Track record operating at pace and driving change through a business at scale
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and commercial judgement are essential across both categories.
