Job Description

Engineering Sciences comprises ten academic departments that undertake research and teaching across a wide range of disciplines. Our scientists and engineers take discoveries from fundamentals to practice, producing innovative technological solutions to challenging problems. It is a dynamic and growing Faculty, with a strong vision and desire to use our talents to 'Change the world.'

The CEE sits within the Faculty of Engineering Sciences and is the driver for innovation in engineering education across the Faculty. It is a joint Centre with the world-renowned UCL Institute of Education - Faculty of Education and Society. The Centre for Engineering Education incorporates several strands of activity, for example:

  • Support and delivery of the Integrated Engineering Philosophy
  • The Learning Technology Unit
  • Engineering Education and Engagement
  • Research to support Faculty of Engineering's Teaching and Pedagogy
  • Consultancy activity
About the role

This is a Fixed term maternity cover until 19th June 2026, available to UCL staff only

The role will be based across our Bloomsbury and UCL East campuses .

The Centre Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the Centre's infrastructure and administrative functions effectively support its objectives and long-term growth. As the primary operational lead, the post-holder will drive efficiency, foster collaboration, and enhance the Centre's profile within the institution and externally.

Reporting jointly to the Centre Co-Director and Deputy Director of Operations, the Centre Manager will be accountable for the development and oversight of administrative systems, ensuring they are robust, fit for purpose, and fully aligned with UCL and Faculty strategies and policies.

About you

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Educated to first degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record in administration and management within a HEI (or equivalent) complex environment.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively under pressure.
