Centralised Telephone Booking Clerk - Burnley General Hospital, Burnley.
Job Ref: 435-D121-25-C. Contract: Permanent. Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9 00 or 8 00, with department operating 08 00). Salary: £25,272 per annum. Closing Date: 03/06/:00.
This role provides an efficient and effective mapping service for all patients accessing NHS services. The successful candidate will act as a point of contact for patients and internal departments, ensuring correct registration of patient details, booking appointments, and managing enquiries in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities- Liaise with patients and internal departments over the telephone.
- Register patient details and referrals onto the relevant system.
- Book and confirm appointments.
- Deal with enquiries and manage appointment adjustments.
- Escalate appointment deficits or surpluses as required.
- Perform general clerical duties.
- Maintain high accuracy and compliance with Trust standards and policies.

- GCSE in Maths 4 9 (or equivalent).
- Customer Care NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards ECDL/CLAIT or equivalent experience.
- IT qualification.
- Business Administration or Customer Service.
- Experience of using communication skills including verbal, written, face to face, telephone and email.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office Packages, including Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience in a similar administrative role.
- Experience of customer service skills.
- Experience of working in a call centre environment.
- Experience of working in a hospital environment.
- Ability to prioritise and cope with a busy workload.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and targets.
- Ability to work as part of a team and alone using own initiative.
- Attention to detail and adherence to standards.
- Excellent organisational and coordination skills.
- Confidentiality and sensitivity when dealing with the public.
