CCTV Security Engineer

Role Overview

As our CCTV Security Engineer, you will install, commission, and service a range of security systems for both residential and commercial clients. While CCTV is your primary focus, you'll also handle intruder alarms, access control systems, and (ideally) fire alarm equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Survey sites and design/install CCTV camera and recording systems
• Install, configure, and maintain intruder alarm panels and sensors
• Deploy and service access control hardware (doors, readers, controllers)
• Assist with fire alarm system installations and routine servicing where needed
• Commission DVR/NVRs, IP cameras, and remote viewing software
• Perform routine maintenance, firmware updates, and fault diagnosis across all systems
• Respond promptly to service calls, complete clear job reports, and advise clients on best practice
• Support the sales team with technical specifications and site demonstrations

Requirements

• Proven experience installing & maintaining CCTV, intruder alarms, and access control systems
• Some familiarity with fire alarm systems (preferred)
• Strong fault finding skills and networking knowledge (PoE, VLANs, TCP/IP)
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical schematics
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally
• Relevant City & Guilds or NVQ qualifications in electrical/security installation (advantageous)
