Job Description

Job Title: Locum Cath Lab Radiographer (Band 6)

Location: North London

Rate: £30 per hour

Job Type: Locum Contract

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing


Job Summary:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 Cath Lab Radiographer to join a busy cardiac catheterisation unit in North London on a locum basis. This role involves supporting a wide range of interventional cardiology procedures including angiography, pacemaker and ICD implants, and PCI. The ideal candidate will have prior cath lab experience and be confident working within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality imaging support during cardiac catheterisation procedures.
  • Operate specialist X-ray equipment in line with radiation safety protocols.
  • Work alongside cardiologists, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment.
  • Assist with patient preparation and recovery as required.
  • Participate in weekday shifts, with occasional on-call or weekend availability desirable (but not essential).


Candidate Requirements:


Essential:

  • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • HCPC registered.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months' experience working in a cath lab setting.
  • Competent in using fluoroscopy systems for interventional cardiology.
  • Strong team player with good communication skills.


Desirable:

  • Previous NHS experience in a cath lab environment.
  • Experience with systems such as Siemens Artis, GE Innova, or Philips Azurion.
  • IV cannulation certification.
