Chef Manager - School & Hospitality Agency Work Canterbury

Location: Canterbury and surrounding areas. Pay: £18.00-£24.00 per hour (depending on experience and end employer)

This temporary Catering Assistant position with Berkeley Scott is based in Canterbury. The role involves supporting kitchen operations across various sites, including schools and hospitality venues. Working on an agency basis, you will assist with food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness standards. The role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team. You will help ensure smooth service during busy periods.

Contract type: Temporary Agency Work. Start Date: September.

Berkeley-Scott is recruiting experienced Chef Managers to join our agency team for exciting opportunities across schools and a variety of catering businesses in and around Canterbury starting in September.

Key responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day running of busy kitchens
• Leading, motivating and supporting kitchen teams
• Planning and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety and allergen standards
• Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
• Ensuring kitchens operate efficiently and meet client expectations

What we're looking for

• A minimum of 2 years experience as a Chef Manager or in a similar kitchen management role
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable
• Two satisfactory references
• An Enhanced DBS certificate
• The right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential
