Catering Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant to join our team at one of our independent schools in Sheffield S10 3DH.

This is a term time only position working 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 7am to 2:30pm.

We work in office restaurants, independent schools and at conference venues with the same high end ethos throughout.

As a Catering Assistant, you will help maintain the highest standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and food preparation, working collaboratively as part of the team. Your role is vital in ensuring catering operations run smoothly.

Daily responsibilities may vary depending on operational needs, but you will be involved in creating and serving imaginative food, engaging with students, and providing exceptional customer care. A flexible and adaptable approach is essential, as you may also assist with cleaning, food preparation, service, and other tasks as assigned by the Chef Manager.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Have experience working in a similar role and environment
• Be highly organised and comfortable working in a high pressured environment
• Ensure you have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Keep up standards of hygiene and ensure all areas are clean and tidy
• Have excellent customer service and social skills
• Be responsible for the preparation and serving of food to staff
• Have a can do attitude and will work well as part of a team of 13
• Be customer focused
• Have basic food knowledge
• Be willing to participate and enjoy working as part of the team
