Category Manager (IT & Digital) - hybrid - freelance

I'm supporting a major FMCG client in the Netherlands who is looking for an experienced Category Manager to strengthen their global procurement organisation during a period of significant digital and data-driven transformation.

About the Role
In this assignment, you will act as a strategic partner to IT and Digital leadership, helping shape the supplier ecosystem that enables their technology and data ambitions. You'll drive commercial excellence, strengthen strategic supplier relationships, and ensure long-term value creation across major IT services, software (including SAP), and global technology partners.

What We're Looking For
A senior profile with:

• 10+ years' experience in IT procurement, sourcing, contract management or vendor management
• Strong understanding of IT services cost drivers and the ability to identify continuous cost-optimisation opportunities
• Proven experience managing large global IT suppliers and complex commercial negotiations
• Strong command of the global vendor landscape, especially within SAP ecosystems
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills
• A strategic mindset - able to translate business direction into sourcing strategies and partner frameworks
• Ability to operate across global teams and deliver value in a fast-moving, digital-focused environment
