We are looking for a Casual Matchday Stadium Catering Cook at Sodexo Live, St James' Park, Newcastle United Football Club. The role involves preparing stadium catering menu items during matchday events and supporting a fast paced catering environment.
Main Responsibilities- Prepare and cook stadium catering menu items quickly and consistently during matchday and event service
- Operate kitchen and catering equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, fryers, ovens, and hot holding units
- Ensure food is prepared and presented in line with venue quality and portion standards
- Maintain high levels of speed and accuracy during busy service periods
- Support food preparation tasks, including ingredient prep, stock organisation, and replenishment
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure all food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
- Keep kiosk kitchen areas, cooking stations, and equipment clean, organised, and well maintained
- Work closely with kiosk front of house staff to ensure smooth and efficient customer service
- Assist with stock rotation and minimise food waste in line with catering procedures
- Follow allergen, health & safety, and stadium operational guidelines at all times
- Communicate stock shortages or equipment issues promptly to supervisors or kitchen management
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup, cleaning, and equipment checks
- Adapt quickly to high volume service demands and changing matchday requirements
- Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast paced stadium catering environment
- Support the wider catering team to deliver an efficient and positive matchday experience for guests and supporters
- Previous experience in a kitchen, fast food, catering, or stadium/event catering environment essential
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast paced, high volume service environment
- Passion for delivering quality food and excellent customer service
- Good understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and health & safety procedures
- Comfortable operating kitchen equipment such as grills, fryers, ovens, and hot holding units
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible to work evenings, weekends, matchdays, and large scale events
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with the ability to support both kitchen and front of house colleagues
- Able to remain calm and organised under pressure during busy matchday periods
- Good attention to detail to ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are maintained
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors and kitchen management
- Positive attitude with a proactive and hardworking approach
