Carpenter / Joiner (Self-Employed Subcontractor)

Peterborough & Surrounding Areas

£21.50 - £22.00 per hour
Company Van Supplied
Immediate Start Available
Ongoing Long-Term Contract

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Carpenter / Joiner to join a well-established team covering Peterborough and the surrounding areas on a self-employed subcontract basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for long-term, ongoing work with a company-supplied van and consistent workload.

The Role

You'll be carrying out a variety of carpentry and joinery works within domestic residential properties, including:

  • Responsive repairs and maintenance
  • Property refurbishment works
  • Kitchen and bathroom fitting
  • Door installations and repairs
  • Second-fix carpentry
  • General joinery and finishing works
  • Working within occupied and vacant (void) properties

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry & Joinery, City & Guilds qualification, or time-served carpenter/joiner
  • Previous carpentry and joinery experience
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and deliver work to a high standard

Desirable Experience

  • Social housing maintenance
  • Local authority or housing association contracts
  • Responsive repairs
  • Planned maintenance programmes
  • Working within occupied domestic properties
  • Void property refurbishments and reinstatement works
