About this job

Purpose: General upkeep of trust properties and communal areas, maintaining your designated site(s) in good order, with particular focus on first impressions and compliance.

Location & Travel: Stourbridge The role will be based in Stourbridge, working across our Eagle House, Ashfield House and Ashfield Gardens sites.

To be considered for the role, you must be able to reliably travel to our sites.

Responsibilities
  • General Site maintenance including some grounds maintenance, gardening, litter picking and cleaning
  • Seasonal activities including events set-up and breakdown
  • Carry out minor/unskilled repairs
  • Provide "value-add" services to residents such as flat pack furniture assembly and moving small items
  • Work with the Site Lead to ensure best first impressions for visitors, staff and residents
  • Provide access/escort contractors and visitors
  • Support the local Property team by identifying skilled repairs and works, gathering background information from service users, taking photographs and/or assisting fault diagnosis
  • Support wider PALS operation with routine site/property inspections and component checks (such as fire doors)
  • Carry out minor routine and ad-hoc painting and decorating when needed, in support of wider cyclical redecorations programme
  • Support external contractors and service agents with onsite support (e.g. resetting equipment/alarms system under telephone guidance)
  • May be required to deliver cleaning/window cleaning/washroom services where practical
  • Support local care and support team/Registered managers with Fire Alarm and Call point testing
  • Report all accidents, incidents and near misses immediately in accordance with Trust Policy
  • To comply with the Trust's Policies and Procedures, including Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and Data Protection
  • To comply with the statutory provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974; look after health, safety and welfare and be mindful of others
  • Employees must co-operate and comply with management instructions regarding Health and Safety and report all accidents, incidents and problems as soon as practicable
  • To ensure that confidentiality is respected and maintained at all times
  • To attend and participate in Team Meetings, 1-2-1 Supervision sessions and other meetings as required
  • To undertake any other duties which are consistent with this post, as directed by line management
