AfC Band 4 - An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced administrator to join our friendly Cancer Services team.

The Cancer Coordinator works alongside the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer and a multidisciplinary team including Cancer Services, Personalised Care and Support Lead for Cancer, AHP Lead for Cancer, Associate Medical Director for Cancer, Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS), Cancer Support Workers (CSWs) and the team at the NGS Macmillan Wellbeing Centre.

They play an essential role in coordinating the essential day-to-day administration for the smooth running of our programme. North Bristol Trust is working to ensure all patients diagnosed with cancer and supported at North Bristol NHS Trust are offered key aspects of care outlined in the NHS Cancer Plan; this role will play a pivotal part in this.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, Cancer Services and Personalised Care and Support Leads.
  • Organise and administer the Cancer Board.
  • Support the day-to-day administration for all programmes, including booking venues, arranging catering and advertising.
  • Coordinate various Personalised Care and Support activities, make calls, respond to enquiries, and arrange logistics.
  • Assist in setting up and administering new and non-routine programmes.
  • Attend meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes and distribute notes.
  • Support evaluation and data collection for the Personalised Care and Support work streams.
  • Communicate verbally and via email with appropriate personnel.
  • Input data onto Trust IT systems and maintain the Personalised Care and Support database.
  • Arrange mail merges and send out invitations, literature, maps and information packs.
  • Provide administrative support for audit activity when required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • GCSE English Language and Mathematics (Grades A-C) or equivalent.
  • Previous NHS experience.
  • At least two years' experience in a senior administrative role in an office environment.
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience dealing with patients, public and handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in communication systems (email, telephone, etc.) and IT systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Clear communication, excellent writing, data entry and presentation skills.
  • Good administrative/word-processing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong keyboard skills and ability to manipulate data into databases.
  • Ability to compile reports and take minutes.
  • Attention to detail and well-organised, methodical with high accuracy.
  • Ability to work unsupervised, use initiative and make decisions.
  • Knowledge of cancer pathways, person-centred care and the health and social care environment.
  • Knowledge of NHS IT, clinical systems and NBT hospital systems.
  • Team working, motivation, prioritisation, information retrieval, discretion and confidentiality.
