Calculator Piping (Industrial Pipework)

Function description

For a fast-growing and innovative engineering & fabrication company specializing in industrial piping, we are looking for an experienced Calculator Piping (Estimator Pipework).

The company delivers high-quality piping solutions for sectors such as steel production, petrochemical plants, food processing, and drinking water infrastructure , and works according to the highest European quality standards including ISO9001, ISO3834-2, EN1090 and PED .

As a Calculator Piping, you play a crucial role in the preparation and success of multidisciplinary piping projects . You analyze customer requests, interpret technical documentation, prepare accurate cost calculations, and translate these into well-structured quotations. In this role, you understand the entire project lifecycle and ensure a smooth transition from tendering to execution.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues in engineering, work preparation, procurement, and project management , while maintaining regular contact with customers to ensure clarity, accuracy, and high service quality.

Your key responsabilities will be:

• Prepare cost calculations, bills of materials, and quotations for industrial piping projects.
• Analyze scope of work, drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, specifications, and technical requirements .
• Determine material quantities, fabrication hours, installation costs, and subcontracting requirements.
• Coordinate with work preparation and project management to validate pricing, sourcing, and planning.
• Contribute to workload planning and provide input for project scheduling.
• Support engineers and project managers during project execution when technical or commercial clarification is needed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement within the tendering and cost-calculation process.
• Maintain a structured and accurate documentation flow within the ERP and project systems.

What we are looking for

• MBO4/HBO degree in Mechanical Engineering , Technical Business Administration , or similar.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within the (industrial) piping sector.
• Strong knowledge of industrial piping systems , materials (CS, SS, alloys), welding processes, and associated standards.
• Understanding of European piping norms and fabrication standards:
• ISO9001, ISO3834-2, EN1090, PED .
• Strong numerical insight and ability to prepare detailed cost estimations.
• Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Good communication abilities and a proactive, solution-driven attitude.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems .
• Driving license B
