Contract: Fixed Term (20 months) until 31/03/2028
Salary: £40,519 (basic £37,510 + location allowance £2,009 + non pensionable allowance £1,000)
Role OverviewThe Business Support Officer provides business and secretariat support to the Office of the Police Chief Scientific Adviser (OPCSA). You will be the first point of contact, maintaining the professional image of the team and ensuring efficient administration of meetings, committees and governance structures.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive secretariat support for OPCSA meetings, functional committees and governance structures.
- Plan and manage multiple work streams, prioritising competing tasks and escalated issues.
- Prepare accurate minutes, reports and financial documents, maintaining records and documentation.
- Investigate and resolve administrative errors or issues, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Maintain IT systems and quickly adapt to new software or technology developments.
- Present a professional, efficient and effective manner to all stakeholders.
- Proven experience providing secretariat and business support in a large public or private sector organisation.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills, with ability to analyse and summarise complex information.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to handle competing priorities.
- Proficiency with office applications and IT systems, and quick learning of new tools.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail in written and financial reporting.
- Experience dealing with administrative errors and providing guidance to teams.
