Make a real difference in the services residents rely on every day

We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Business Support Manager to help keep key frontline services running smoothly.

This is a hands on, varied role where you'll supervise a small support team and play a central part in managing resident enquiries, coordinating administrative processes, and supporting key services such as waste collection and garden waste subscriptions.

If you enjoy problem solving, working at pace, and making things happen behind the scenes, this could be a great next step.

About the role

This is a practical role with a strong focus on coordination and delivery.

Working within Street Scene, Leisure & Technical Services, you will:

  • Supervise a small team of administrative staff, ensuring work is organised and completed efficiently
  • Act as a key link between Customer Services and operational teams, helping to resolve resident enquiries and complaints
  • Support the day to day running of waste and street scene services, including inbox management and case tracking
  • Coordinate the Garden Waste subscription service, including renewals and new sign ups to support income targets (c.£2m per year)
  • Maintain and update service systems and data, producing reports where needed (full training provided)
  • Support financial and administrative processes, including purchase orders, invoices, and service monitoring
  • Assist with wider service tasks, such as fees and charges updates and data analysis
About You

We're interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

Experience
  • Experience in a busy customer service or business support environment
  • Experience of supervising or coordinating the work of others
  • Ability to manage different priorities and tight deadlines
Skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to deal confidently with colleagues and customers
  • Confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Approach
  • Reliable, flexible and solution-focused
  • Someone who takes ownership and follows things through
