Reports to: PMO Manager

Role Overview As EL continues to grow, we're looking for a proactive Business Operations Coordinator to become a trusted support to our CEO and PMO Director.

This is a varied role for someone who enjoys bringing structure, organisation and efficiency to a growing engineering consultancy.

You'll support executive leadership while coordinating project administration, quality systems, business operations and day-to-day office processes.

The role offers excellent exposure across the business and would suit someone who enjoys working closely with senior leadership while making a genuine impact on how the business operates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day business support to the CEO and PMO Director, helping to ensure priorities are effectively managed.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, including agendas, minutes, actions and follow-up activities.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, business updates and correspondence.
  • Manage calendars, meeting schedules and key business deadlines.
  • Support business planning activities and strategic initiatives where required.
Business Operations
  • Support the smooth day-to-day running of the business through effective administrative and operational coordination.
  • Maintain company records, business documentation and operational processes.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new employees and assist with HR administration.
  • Manage timesheet administration and reporting, ensuring compliance with company deadlines.
  • Support the Office Manager with operational and office-related activities as required.
Project & PMO Support
  • Support the PMO Director with project administration and governance activities.
  • Maintain project trackers, action logs, reporting schedules and project documentation.
  • Assist with project mobilisation, close-out and document management.
  • Ensure project information is accurate, organised and maintained consistently.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain document control systems, templates and business records.
  • Support the administration of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Assist with audit preparation and compliance documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes and implement more efficient ways of working.
What you'll bring
  • 2-5 years' experience in an administrative, business support, office coordination, project administration, or executive support role.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confident preparing reports, presentations, meeting minutes and business documentation.

  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of administrative processes.

  • Experience within an engineering, construction, consulting or technical environment.

  • Experience with document control or quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality frameworks.
  • Experience using timesheet or resource management systems.
  • An interest in improving business processes and supporting operational excellence.
