Job Description
Overview

Shiplake College is seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Part-Time Teacher of Business and/or Economics. This will be on a one-year contract initially, with the potential for extension.

Detail

We are seeking to appoint a part-time teacher to cover one or two days on a reduced timetable. The role would suit an energetic teacher committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning; a teacher who can inspire and challenge all our pupils. You should be able to teach GCSE Business (Key Stage 4) and A-level and BTEC Business, and/or A-level Economics (Key Stage 5). We will consider all levels of teaching experience, from experienced practitioners to early career teachers. Applicants should be able to instil a passion for their subject and create a rigorous learning environment for pupils to thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Business and/or Economics to GCSE (KS4) and A-level/BTEC (KS5) as appropriate.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the School, including duties as a tutor attached to a house and participation in the co-curricular programme.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and learning and support pupils to achieve their personal best.

Shiplake College is an independent boarding and day school for around 580 pupils aged 11 to 18. The College is co-educational with a Sixth Form since 1998, and became fully co-educational for Year 7 in September 2023.
