Job Title: Business Development Manager - (EA - Research Services)
Location: Netherlands (Hybrid)
Industry: Testing, Inspection & Certification (TIC) / Environmental Services
Overview: A leading international provider of environmental testing and analytical services is seeking a proactive and commercially driven Business Development Manager to support the growth of its operations in the Netherlands. This is a pivotal role for an ambitious individual with strong knowledge of the environmental services sector, particularly in laboratory-based analytical services (e.g., water, soil, air, and waste testing).
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across environmental sectors (e.g., industrial, consultancy, government, utilities).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to understand their analytical and regulatory needs.
- Collaborate closely with laboratory operations and technical teams to tailor service offerings.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to grow market share and revenue.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine sales approach.
- Prepare bids, proposals, and presentations for clients and industry stakeholders.
- Report regularly on pipeline, KPIs, and business development performance to senior leadership.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or key account management within environmental services, TIC, or a related scientific/technical field.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and testing methodologies (e.g., ISO 17025, EU directives, soil and groundwater regulations).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Fluency in Dutch.
- Comfortable working independently, with a solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative approach.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline is preferred.
