A growing technology-led defence & security business is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development & Capture Manager to support a surge in new project opportunities.
This role reports into the Head of Business Development and will play a key role in qualifying and securing new work across national security, cyber, and digital transformation programmes. You'll lead capture on strategic bids, help shape pipeline priorities, and work cross-functionally to develop commercially sound, technically deliverable solutions that win.
This isn't a siloed sales role - it's hands on capture management, guiding high value opportunities from early identification through to successful bid submission.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead capture activity on selected strategic pursuits
Drive qualification, strategy, and bid governance processes for in flight opportunities
Build and manage internal stakeholder alignment across technical, commercial, and delivery functions
Identify and engage with key partners or subcontractors to enhance win probability
Develop clear, compelling capture plans and investment cases
Support pipeline reviews and contribute to wider BD strategy across the business
Input into proposal content or leadership on bids where required
5+ years' experience in business development or capture roles within defence, security, or government markets
Proven track record in winning complex bids through structured capture approaches
Strong understanding of UK customer environment (MOD, national security, etc.)
Confident working across internal functions and external stakeholders to build a deliverable win strategy
Capture training (e.g. Shipley) is desirable but not essential
Must be eligible for UK SC security clearance
