The head office of Brunel International and Group Finance team is located in Amsterdam. The team is diverse and dynamic with Accounting & Financial Control, Business Control, Internal Audit, Consolidation & Reporting and M&A all included in the scope of this department.
ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has come up for a collaborative Business Controller to join our International team, a role that is at the heart of our organisation, delivering impact on company performance.
Based in Amsterdam, you will be in contact with the Regions, Board of Directors and the Global Leadership Team on a regular basis! Operating in a dynamic, matrix organisation we value your insight and opinion!
As valued team member of the Corporate Financial Control (CFC) department, the team is diverse, with Accounting & Financial Control, Business Control (per geography, market vertical and client), Internal Audit, Consolidation & Reporting and M&A, all included in the scope of this department. Furthermore the accounting for several holding companies is done by CFC.
This role reports to the Director Group Finance and Control.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Business Control for select regions, markets and clients, Financial Analysis and Performance Review against budget and forecast
- Act as a sparring partner for Regional Financial Directors and local finance teams,
- Consolidation, tax reporting and ESG reporting
- Review of internal processes and procedures and implementing improvements
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies across locations
- Preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts and reports
- Lead Regional Financial Directors and their teams in the accounting and the preparation of reporting for our entities under IFRS
- Preparation of consolidated analysis of results for multiple reporting entities,
- Participate in special projects and global (internal) change projects.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate will have academic-level intellectual and professional capabilities, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a complex (international) organization. Key qualifications include:
- Master degree in Accounting, Control or Business Administration (RA is preferred);
- Minimum 3-5 years working experience in a similar role
- Thorough understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to translate financial and operational metrics into simple and clear management information
- A positive and driven attitude with a solutions mindset
- Willingness to travel (10-20% of time)
- Affinity with Microsoft and reporting tools such as Co-Pilot, PowerBI, PowerPivot, Python, is a strong plus
- Fluency in English; additionally, fluency in Dutch is a plus
- Experience with Tagetik and Business Central is a plus
