Bulgarian Software Quality Engineer wanted

We are currently looking for the following for our client:

Job Title: Software Quality Engineer
Openings: 3/1 consultant per level - Junior, Mid-Senior, Senior

Start: June 2025 - 12 months (extension likely, project duration up to 3 years)
Location: Bulgaria (Sofia-based, remote-first with occasional on-site meetings)
Language: English (mandatory), Bulgarian (a plus)
Candidates must be based in Bulgaria

We are looking for an experienced Software Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team. You will ensure the quality and security of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation workflows, working closely with DevOps and development teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain automated test frameworks (Ansible, Terraform)
• Define and monitor the Software Quality Index (SQI)
• Perform security testing (SAST, OSS/OSVM, SDOL integration)
• Validate IaC deployments (performance, security, correctness)
• Develop scripts and tools in Python, Perl, or other languages for testing and validation of complex systems
• Ensure quality in GitOps workflows and across the SDLC
• Create test documentation (plans, cases, reports)
• Train and mentor teams on test automation, especially with Python/Perl

Requirements:

• 3+ years in QA/DevOps-focused roles
• Strong Python and/or Perl programming skills
• Experience with CI/CD (eg, GitLab CI), GitOps, and test automation
• Knowledge of security testing (SAST, OSS/OSVM)
• Familiar with Ansible, Terraform, Linux, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration
