Bulgarian Cloud Infrastructure Engineer wanted

We are currently looking for the following for our client:

Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Openings: 3/1 consultant per level - Junior, Mid-Senior, Senior

Start: June 2025 - 12 months (extension likely, project duration up to 3 years)
Location: Bulgaria (Sofia-based, remote-first with occasional on-site meetings)
Language: English (mandatory), Bulgarian (a plus)

We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain cloud-based solutions across leading hyperscalers-Azure, AWS, GCP and more. You'll be instrumental in building secure, scalable, and automated infrastructure environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. You will also take ownership of CI/CD processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering:

• Design and manage scalable and resilient infrastructure solutions on Azure, AWS, and GCP.
• Implement cloud networking, including VPC design, routing, DNS, Firewalls, and interconnects across hyperscalers.
• Set up and optimize cloud storage solutions, ensuring security, performance, and cost-efficiency across various providers.

Infrastructure as Code & Automation:

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to standardize, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure deployments.
• Develop configuration management playbooks using Ansible for automated provisioning and environment setup.
• Ensure best practices for IaC, including modularity, versioning, and secure secret handling.

CI/CD Enablement:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines using proven Ci/CD and GitOps tools.
• Integrate quality gates (eg, unit tests, security scans, linting) into pipelines to ensure code quality and deployment safety.
• Collaborate with development to enable continuous integration, testing, and delivery across multiple environments.

Monitoring, Optimization & Support:

• Monitor infrastructure performance and reliability, proactively identifying and addressing issues.
• Support cost optimization initiatives across cloud platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues, ensuring minimal downtime and fast recovery.

Qualifications:

• Solid hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform, including services across compute, networking, storage, and security.
• Deep understanding of hyperscaler networking and storage architectures.
• Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible in managing large-scale cloud infrastructure environments.
• Expertise in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in complex environments.
• Strong Scripting skills (eg, Bash, Python) and experience with source control systems (eg, Git).
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (eg, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with a passion for automation and continuous improvement.
