About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Building Safety Manager to lead the delivery of building safety and fire safety compliance across a residential property portfolio.

Reporting to the Head of Building Safety & Compliance, you will take operational responsibility for Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs), ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety legislation and associated regulatory requirements. You will lead a small specialist team and play a key role in maintaining a safe environment for residents while driving continuous improvement across building safety processes, systems and governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management of Building Safety and Fire Safety compliance across the property portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety legislation and all associated regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the safe management of Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs).
  • Manage building safety risks, ensuring appropriate controls, monitoring and remedial actions are in place.
  • Maintain and develop Building Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports.
  • Support HRB registration and Building Assessment/Assurance Certificate requirements.
  • Lead resident engagement activities relating to building safety and fire safety matters.
  • Oversee Fire Risk Assessment programmes and ensure timely completion of remedial actions.
  • Monitor structural and fire safety risks, implementing robust assurance and reporting processes.
  • Manage and support Compliance Officers, Project Managers and Project Officers.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, regulators, fire authorities and specialist consultants.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and management systems that support regulatory compliance.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Golden Thread of Information.
  • Support Mandatory Occurrence Reporting processes and investigations.
  • Produce reports, KPIs and assurance information for senior management and governance groups.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement across building safety and compliance services.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential
  • Experience delivering Building Safety and/or Fire Safety compliance within housing, property or construction environments.
  • Strong knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety legislation and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing Higher Risk Buildings (HRBs).
  • Experience developing or maintaining Building Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports.
  • Proven experience undertaking site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
  • Experience leading teams and managing specialist contractors or consultants.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Qualifications
  • Level 5 qualification in Building Safety, Asset Management or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational or Construction Health & Safety.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Relevant memberships or professional qualifications within Building Safety, Fire Safety, Compliance or Health & Safety disciplines would be advantageous.
