Expected salary - £57,100 - £75,000 (dependent on experience)
Contract type - This position is a Permanent contract.
Working pattern/flexible working - The Partnership has adopted a hybrid working approach, meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The BTR Senior Leadership team meets around 1 day a month in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings.
Location - This role is based at our London Head Office campus in Pimlico. This role requires you to be on call (on a rota basis) in order to provide emergency safety response 24/7 for all JLP sites.
FYI - A full Clean driving licence is required for this role. Your business mileage will be reimbursed.

Key responsibilities
Ensure that the John Lewis Partnership is meeting its legal obligations in respect of the Building Safety Act, other associated building safety and fire safety legislation and contractual obligations.
Operate a systematic approach for managing high-rise buildings and other buildings managed by the Build to Rent team
Invest in your personal and professional development to achieve your potential. Liaise with external agencies and others to keep abreast of the approaches others in the sector are taking.
Influence stakeholders across the organisation through both personal subject matter expertise and wider industry knowledge to drive improvements with resident safety at the heart of decision making whilst also achieving compliant buildings.
Ensure improvement programmes are targeted to all relevant business areas to this role. Ensure the appropriate governance is in place (including democratic channels) and chair groups where appropriate.
Identify current and emerging safety issues. Develop plans to manage these trends and adapt our capability accordingly.
Crisis Management : You will deputise when required for the Health and Safety Lead and provide safety subject matter expertise if required to the Silver crisis team, ensuring that all actions taken by the Partnership are thought through and lead to a successful conclusion of the event.
Essential skills/experience you'll need
Subject matter expertise in building safety with relevant practical experience of residential buildings included high raised accommodation
Technical qualification in building safety (achieved)
Results orientated and comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisation.
Flexible, adaptable and able to work work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
Externally networked and aware of industry trends and legislative developments
Ability to travel as needed to Build to Rent sites
Membership of accredited body e.g. CIOB, RICS etc
Experience working in the Build to Rent sector
CMIOSH status with the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH) or equivalent
