Job Summary

Are you passionate about the emotional wellbeing of children and young people?

As the CAMHS InReach administrator, you'll play an important role in supporting the team. Your work will include managing referrals, updating patient records, monitoring service processes, liaising with external services, and acting as the main administrative contact for this team.

The CAMHS InReach team is a multi-disciplinary service made up of psychologists, family therapists, psychotherapists, social workers, occupational therapists and nurses. The team works closely with Local Authority Children's Services and other partner agencies to provide coordinated care and support for children, young people and families with complex needs.

Main duties of the job
  • Be the first point of contact for the team, handling email enquiries with professionalism and sensitivity.
  • Process new referrals and accurately input patient details and treatment information into spreadsheets and electronic healthcare systems.
  • Maintain accurate records, spreadsheets and tracking systems, providing routine information and data to support service monitoring.
  • Support service coordination, including diaries, meetings and minute taking.

Person Specification Knowledge Essential
  • Good all round IT knowledge
Desirable
  • Understanding of mental health issues
  • Safeguarding knowledge
  • Knowledge of information analysis
Qualifications - Academic/Skills/Professional Essential
  • Higher Education qualification (i.e. A-Level/NVQ 3 standard) or extensive equivalent/previous experience in an administration role.
  • GCSE English and Maths.
Desirable
  • Administration/secretarial qualifications
Further Training or Job-Related Aptitude and Skills Essential
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload
  • Able to work effectively under pressure/cope with distractions.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient with MS Office suite, in particular Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
  • Understands the need for confidentiality.
  • Team player with the ability to plan and organise work within the admin team to meet particular service needs.
  • Able to communicate with staff at all levels of the Trust and outside agencies in a confident and effective manner.

Experience Essential
  • Relevant experience of working as an Administrator.
  • Proven experience of using databases to add/amend/retrieve information.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and prioritising a heavy workload.
  • Experience of managing diary systems and tracking information.
Desirable
  • Experience of using healthcare patient record systems e.g. RIO.
  • Experience of working in children's services.
  • Experience of working in healthcare administration or public sector administration.
  • Minute-taking experience.
Personal Qualities Essential
  • Able to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to deal with the public/partner agencies in a polite and professional manner.
  • Able to work flexibly across other teams, if required.
  • Desire to attend courses relating to role as appropriate.
Contractual requirements Essential
  • Ability and willing to travel independently between CAMHS sites within the Trust to provide administrative cover should the need arise.
