Our client is a growing and ambitious accountancy practice with a strong reputation for providing high-quality advice and support to businesses and individuals across the South of England. As part of a wider group of established practices, they offer the opportunities and resources of a larger organisation while maintaining the friendly, collaborative culture and personal approach of a local firm.
Due to continued growth and an increasing client workload, they are looking to appoint a bookkeeper to join their established team in Melksham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented bookkeeping professional who enjoys working closely with clients, managing multiple priorities and being part of a modern accountancy practice.
The Role
As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records for a portfolio of clients across a variety of industries. You will play a key role in ensuring financial information is complete, compliant and readily available to support wider accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process monthly bookkeeping for clients across a range of industries.
- Manage sales and purchase invoice processing.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journals including payroll, depreciation, accruals and prepayments.
- Produce VAT returns for review and submission.
- Liaise with clients and colleagues to ensure information is accurate and deadlines are met.
- Support client onboarding and contribute to a high standard of client service.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- AAT Level 2 qualified (or equivalent by experience).
- Familiarity with Xero or similar cloud accounting software.
- An organised and systematic approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Salary & Benefits
- £30,000 - £32,000 salary
