Bookkeeper

Our client in Cork city is looking for a proactive and solutions focused Bookkeeper who thrives in a fast paced environment and enjoys solving complex challenges. You'll work alongside passionate professionals, build meaningful client relationships, and deliver insights that help businesses grow. This role goes far beyond data entry - it's about understanding clients, improving systems, and contributing to a high performing team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality bookkeeping services, including bank and control account reconciliations, VAT return preparation, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple clients.
• Enhance and correct client bookkeeping systems, using tools such as Dext and other digital apps to improve efficiency and streamline workflows.
• Manage workload effectively, planning and organising your time to maximise productivity while upholding the firm's standards, policies, and professional ethics.
• Provide excellent client service, communicating clearly, drafting commercially appropriate correspondence, and consistently earning strong feedback from clients and colleagues.

Requirements

• Experience with accounting software (Xero, Sage, Big Red Book, QuickBooks, etc.)
• Familiarity with core accounting apps, especially Dext
• Strong Excel, Word, and email skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• High attention to detail and strong organisational habits
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• A solutions driven mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development
