Job Purpose
Oakridge International School, Bachupally is looking for a passionate and committed Biology Teacher to join our academic team on a 6-9 month maternity cover contract.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging, concept-driven Biology lessons, supporting students' academic progress, and creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Biology lessons that promote conceptual understanding, inquiry, critical thinking and scientific skills.
• Teach Biology across the relevant secondary/senior secondary grades as per school requirements.
• Develop lesson plans, learning resources, practical activities and assessments aligned with curriculum expectations.
• Conduct laboratory activities safely and effectively.
• Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments.
• Provide constructive and timely feedback to students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
• Encourage students to develop scientific thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborate with the Biology department and wider academic team.
• Participate in school events and professional development programmes.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and student-centred school culture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biology / Life Sciences / Zoology / Botany or a related discipline.
• B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
• 2-3 years of relevant school teaching experience preferred.
• Experience teaching IB, IGCSE, Cambridge or CBSE Biology will be an advantage.
• Strong subject knowledge, classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to use educational technology and digital learning tools effectively.

Contract Details
This is a full-time fixed-term maternity cover position for approximately 6-9 months, subject to school requirements.
