About the Role

We're recruiting for a Bids & Proposals Manager to lead complex, high-value submissions for a purpose-driven law firm with a clear mission: to improve lives, communities, and society. This is a pivotal role within the Marketing & Business Development team, supporting the firm's Strategy 2030 and driving continued growth across multiple legal sectors.

You'll take ownership of the end-to-end bid process - from opportunity identification through to strategy, content development, submission, and post-bid analysis. Working closely with partners, sector leads, lawyers, and senior stakeholders, you'll shape compelling, client-focused proposals that strengthen the firm's market position and win new work.

This role is ideal for an experienced bids professional who thrives in a collaborative environment, brings strategic thinking to each opportunity, and enjoys mentoring and developing others within a fast-paced, purpose-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation and delivery of high-quality bids and proposals across all sectors.
  • Develop bid strategies, win themes, and go-to-market approaches to maximise success rates.
  • Manage and mentor a high-performing bids team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate complex submissions, ensuring timelines, compliance, and brand consistency.
  • Maintain and enhance the bid library including templates, case studies, and core content.
  • Analyse bid performance, producing insights to shape future strategies and opportunities.
  • Work closely with Marketing & Business Development colleagues to align bid activity with firmwide growth objectives.
  • Collaborate with partners and lawyers to create tailored, persuasive, and client-focused proposals.
Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience managing bids or proposals within professional services or a comparable environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written communication with a flair for producing persuasive, high-quality content.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate business goals into winning bids.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or developing a team.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and committed to delivering work to a high standard.
