Softcat's Bid Centre is a central function that supports a wide range of formal bids across the business. The team supports a high volume of bids each year, working collaboratively to produce well-structured, compliant responses that help Softcat win and grow. Strong relationships, clear processes, and a supportive culture help us deliver at pace without compromising on quality.

We work closely with sales teams and subject matter experts across the business, and the team includes Senior Bid Managers, Bid Managers, Bid Coordinators, Bid Executives and Apprentices -all with different levels of experience and specialist knowledge.

Driving bid excellence through leadership and innovation

As Bid Centre Senior Team Leader, you'll be responsible for the overall management and performance of our central Bid Centre. You'll take ownership of how we deliver, driving consistency, process adherence, and high-quality outputs across all bids managed through the team. You'll lead a large, mixed-seniority team by providing day-to-day support and long-term development, while creating an environment where people feel clear, capable, and supported in their roles.

Although the focus is on operational excellence, you'll also play an important role in helping us evolve: embedding improvements, standardising how we work, and supporting a more joined-up, efficient bid function across the business.

In this role you'll be responsible for:

• Leadingthe Bid Centre with clear standards and consistent, high-quality delivery.
• Takingownership of bid management to improve outcomes and customer experience.
• Providingdirection and support to the team while overseeing structure and resources.
• Embeddingcontinuous improvement through reviews, refined processes, and scalable tools.
• Workingcross-functionally to align priorities, enhance collaboration, and drive performance.

We'd love you to have

• Proven experience leading a centralised bid function in a fast-paced setting.
• Confidence managing a large, multi-layered team across varied roles.
• Strong grasp of formal bid processes, compliance requirements, and internal governance.
• Sharp eye for spotting inefficiencies and driving process improvements.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships.
