Behaviour Support Officer - Corby

Location: Corby, Northamptonshire

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only

Behaviour Support Officer - Corby Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school in the Corby area. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours, and achieve success both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in managing their behaviour and maintaining positive engagement in learning.
  • Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage personal growth, resilience, and self-regulation.
  • Work with students on a one-to-one and small-group basis to address behavioural and emotional needs.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and interventions in line with school policies.
  • Monitor behaviour, attendance, and punctuality, maintaining accurate records where required.
  • Support teachers in creating a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Promote safeguarding, inclusion, and positive behaviour throughout the school community.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching, care, or support settings.
  • Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach to challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
