Overview: Pink Tile Education is supporting a welcoming secondary school in Brighton in their search for a passionate and dedicated Behaviour Support Mentor to join their team in September. This is a full time permanent position working with students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting behaviour, engagement, and emotional regulation, helping students to re engage positively with school life and learning.

Role Responsibilities:

• Support students 1:1 and in small groups who present with SEMH and behavioural needs.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to encourage engagement and progress.
• De escalate challenging situations using calm, consistent, and professional strategies.
• Support students in reintegrating into mainstream lessons where appropriate.
• Work closely with pastoral, safeguarding, and SEN teams to support student needs.
• Promote positive behaviour strategies, routines, and emotional regulation techniques.
• Support students in developing resilience, self confidence, and social skills.
• Assist with monitoring student progress and provide feedback to relevant staff.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment at all times.
• Uphold school policies and safeguarding procedures consistently.

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people with SEMH needs and/or challenging behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management and de escalation skills.
• Calm, resilient, and confident under pressure.
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students.
• Patient, empathetic, and consistent approach to behaviour support.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a wider school team.
• Must hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.

The pay stated is inclusive of the 12.07% PAYE holiday entitlement.
