Salary Scale: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience)

Are you a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor with a passion for supporting young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential?

GSL Education Hull Branch are currently seeking Behaviour Mentors to work within a specialist and supportive educational setting in York. We are looking for dedicated, patient, and proactive individuals who are passionate about supporting students with SEN, SEND, SEMH, and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop the confidence and skills needed to succeed.

The successful Behaviour Mentor will work as part of a committed pastoral and support team, providing tailored behavioural and emotional support to students with a range of additional needs. We are looking to recruit a Behaviour Mentor who can build positive, trusting relationships, promote emotional regulation, and create a calm, structured environment that enables every student to thrive.

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN, SEND, SEMH, ASC, and behavioural needs
• Implement positive behaviour support strategies to encourage engagement, emotional regulation, and resilience
• Support students in developing social skills, confidence, independence, and positive relationships
• Work alongside teachers to adapt learning activities and reduce barriers to learning for individual students
• Monitor student progress, record observations, and contribute to personalised support plans
• Collaborate with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to promote positive educational and wellbeing outcomes
• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEND, SEMH, ASC, or behavioural needs in an education, care, or youth work setting is highly desirable
• Knowledge of positive behaviour management techniques and inclusive support strategies
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
• A calm, patient, resilient, and empathetic approach to supporting young people with complex needs
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• An up-to-date CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained)
• An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or willingness to apply
