Job Description

You know those small moments, a breakthrough, a smile, a calm transition, they matter. This role is full of them.

We're looking for a patient and understanding Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with SEMH in a specialist setting. You'll play a key part in creating a structured, predictable environment where pupils feel safe, emotionally supported, and able to engage in their learning.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups
  • Using positive strategies to support behavioural needs and specific SEMH needs
  • Helping with routines, transitions, and sensory needs
  • Using clear communication and visual strategies
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists

What we're looking for

  • Experience with SEMH, mental health, youth work or SEND, or a real passion to build it
  • A calm, consistent approach, even on the trickier days
  • Someone who notices the small wins and celebrates them
  • Someone with a true passion in supporting behaviour and mental health in young people to help them overcome barriers and succeed
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
