Enable Ireland provides services to over 13,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families across 14 counties. Our expert teams work at every life stage, delivering physical, educational, and social development support from infancy through adolescence and beyond.

We are seeking a highly motivated Basic Grade Psychologist to join our team in Dublin South East (CHO6). Full time and part time opportunities are available in Sandymount and Leopardstown.

Work locations:

  • Leopardstown - located in an HSE building at Leopardstown Shopping Centre, offering excellent transport links and on site amenities.
  • Sandymount - situated in a vibrant seaside community with easy access via DART and bus routes, close to local shops and cafés.

Contract type: Permanent Post, full time (35 hours per week).

Salary scale: €60,342 - €105,535 pro rata per annum, subject to long service increments.

Annual leave entitlement: 34 days pro rata per annum, reduced proportionally for less than a year of service.

Post overview: Provide psychological services within an interdisciplinary team, including assessment and intervention for children accessing the Early Intervention service.

Responsibilities:

Assess and intervene with children aged birth to 18 years, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and applying the Assessment of Need process. Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services, support families, and contribute to program development.

Qualifications
  • Recognised university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8) in Psychology with first or second class honours.
  • Irish post graduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology, or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
  • Demonstrated competence in the relevant Care Group(s).
  • Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Clinical or counselling qualification: at least 60 days of supervised clinical placement or post qualification supervised work experience in Disability (Child and Adult), Child Psychology, or Adult Psychology.
  • Educational qualification: at least 60 days of supervised clinical placement or post qualification supervised work in Child Disability or Child Psychology.
  • Note: combined placement and post qualification experience must total 60 days within a single care group area.
  • Eligible to work in the State.
  • Experience in the disability sector.
  • Experience of inter /trans disciplinary team working.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Assessment of Need process.
  • Experience working with children and families across a range of disabilities, including autism and learning difficulties.
  • Experience in autism diagnosis.
  • At least one year of satisfactory post graduate experience as a Clinical or Educational Psychologist.
