Job Description
Bar and Waiting Assistant Another Place, The Machrie 
Offering a competitive salary, monthly tips, and an annual £2,598 Islay Living Allowance (paid monthly) for all off site team.
This is a full time position offered on a 40 hour per week annualised contract.
Responsibilities- Greeting guests warmly and providing excellent customer service.
- Ready for service by understanding the importance of mise en place and preparation ahead of time.
- Anticipating guests' needs and responding promptly to any requests or concerns.
- Preparing hot and cold beverages.
- Keeping the area you're responsible for clean, tidy and organised.
- Taking part in team tasting sessions to gain an authentic understanding of our menus, answer guest questions and boost team creativity and rapport.
- Taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Demonstrating a base knowledge of food and beverage within a quality driven hotel, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment.
- Prepared for service with a knowledge of our wine and whisky lists and availability.
- Recommending food and wine/whisky pairings.
- Handling cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
- A team player, with the ability to work independently.
- Adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Creating a positive working environment and culture within our team.
- Barista, waiting or bar experience, or other relevant experience in customer facing roles in retail or leisure.
- Enthusiastic and personable team player.
- Strong guest focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good listening skills and a proactive, helpful attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks.
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions.
- Food Hygiene certificate (desirable).
- Excellent time management skills.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed (essential).
Due to the remote location of our hotel, you'll require a driving licence and access to a personal vehicle. Team accommodation within same sex residences is also available when possible.
