We are looking for Maintenance Assistants to join our bank! Are you looking for some extra part time hours, or want to see what it's like to work for the NHS? Our Estates Operations Department can offer you flexible ad hoc work across our footprint (Bury, Rochdale, Oldham, Tameside and Stockport)

We are looking for people with confidence in DIY and maintenance.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work alongside our multi-skilled technicians across all building trades as required, together with a comprehensive specialist and engineering service to all wards and departments in a multi-disciplined environment, ensuring compliance with Trust's safety standards and procedures.

Education / Qualifications
  • Basic numeric and literacy skills
  • NVQ Level 2 in Electrical, Building or Mechanical Services or equivalent experience
  • Commitment to complete in-house training
  • Experience to NVQ 3 level
  • Confined Spaces Certificate
  • City & Guilds in PAT Testing
Experience
  • Experience in Electrical or Mechanical Services.
  • Experience of working in the building industry.
  • Be familiar with the use of step ladders and scaffold
  • Experience of working in Hospital environment
  • Computer literate and keyboard skills
  • Experience of using a fall arrest system when working at heights
Knowledge
  • Electrical and Mechanical Services Working at height
  • Building services
Skills and Abilities
  • Written and verbal communication skills in order to be able to liaise with staff at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to work on own initiative without close supervision.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Training in Building, Electrical or Mechanical Services
