Bank Diabetic Clinical Nurse Specialist

We seek a Diabetic Clinical Nurse Specialist for a Bank contract at Pinehill Hospital. The diabetes specialist nurse will train staff quarterly, support Pinehill, PAC, Wards, and Theatres with diabetes related patient concerns, and provide expert advice on incidents under review per PSIRF. The role includes advising on relevant updates to promote best practices.

Job responsibilities
  • Deliver diabetes assessments for surgical patients at Pinehill's pre assessment clinic, wards, and recovery.
  • Optimize diabetes management pre surgery, interpret HbA1c results, and advise on treatment.
  • Provide advice on insulin and non insulin diabetes medications.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy for medication reconciliation.
  • Educate on diabetes management related to surgery.
  • Work with surgeons, anaesthetists, and ward teams.
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse (NMC).
  • Experience in diabetes or acute care.
  • Understanding of insulin therapy and diabetes medications.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills.
