Bank Chef - Cygnet Hospital Ealing

We are recruiting a Bank Chef to cover morning shifts (07:30 am - 15:30 pm) on a 7 day rota (Monday to Sunday). The position is in a non institutional hospital environment dedicated to eating and personality disorders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook & serve nutritious, balanced and appetising meals.
• Liaise with nursing staff to meet patients' nutritional and dietary needs.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness of staff areas and dining rooms.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and Food Hygiene Regulations.
• Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures.
• Use chemicals following Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience working in catering, kitchen or hospitality environment, preferably within the care sector.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan menus within available budgets and maintain food hygiene standards.
• Holder of a food hygiene certificate; good personal hygiene practices.
• Polite, professional and positive attitude towards internal & external guests.
• Excellent communicator, able to liaise with people at all levels.
• Works independently, as part of a team and under supervision.
• Qualification: City & Guilds 706:1 & 2 level or NVQ Level 2/3 (preferred).
