We are currently seeking an experienced receptionist, at Band 3 to work within our Adult Community Services via a Bank Contract, based in Hemel. You will be joining our Temporary Staffing Team within HPFT - Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.

The role of the receptionist is uniquely important in that the reception staff are often the first contact visitors have with the Trust. Therefore, it is vital that they demonstrate outstanding customer service skills in their day to day running of reception. The post holder will be working at St Pauls Unit. The line manager for this post will be the Site Manager for Marlowe Wellbeing Hub.

HPFT provides services for service users with mental health, learning disability and children's and adolescent mental health problems. Applicants should have some experience of working in a healthcare setting.

Main duties of the job
  • Duties will include welcoming service users, carers, professionals, and visitors to the site dealing with enquiries on the phone or face to face.
  • Answering the telephone and transferring calls where appropriate.
  • Checking ID's and handing out security alarms and keys for which training will be given.
  • Maintaining stationery stock supplies through the ordering system.
  • Using PARIS and PCMIS (our service user information systems) to look for information and enter details full training will be provided.
  • Reporting maintenance and cleaning issues to the helpdesk and keeping accurate and up to date maintenance logs.
  • The post holder will be responsible for keeping the reception area clean, tidy, and organised.
  • The post holder will also act as a Fire Warden. Training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
  • Dealing with any deliveries.
  • Assisting the admin staff with booking clinical rooms and meeting rooms for the clinical staff working in the building.
  • The post holder will need to be assertive and have the ability to challenge senior members of staff and service users.
  • The post holder will work closely with other members of the reception team to ensure a smooth and effective reception service.
  • Full training and a uniform will be provided.
  • First aid training will also be provided.
Person Specification Qualifications / Education / Training
  • A good standard of education to secondary level.
  • Experience of working in an office environment.
Previous Experience
  • Worked or have lived experience with Mental Health
Skills / Knowledge / Ability
  • To be proficient in diary management.
