We are looking for a motivated, hardworking, and enthusiastic person who can work well within a team, be innovative and lead by example through positive and visible leadership.
For this post, a strong clinical background is required to look after respiratory patients requiring non-invasive ventilation support and Optiflow, and to be able to provide the care and management of patients with tracheostomies and chest drains is desirable to support the development of our junior nursing team and to ensure our patients receive a high standard of care. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must and previous respiratory/ventilation experience would be desirable, but not essential.
The post holder will be professionally accountable and maintain the standards of the professional practice as set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Main duties of the jobWe are looking to recruit a dedicated and highly motivated individual who is passionate about providing high quality and compassionate care to our respiratory patients. We are seeking an aspiring clinical leader who will demonstrate role modelling, empowerment, and support to our team. They will be responsible for ensuring safe and effective practice, enhancing patient experience, managing and developing the team, undertaking clinical audit, supporting research on the unit, monitoring and improving standards of care in the unit, working alongside the multidisciplinary team and being responsible for efficient and effective use of resources. Engage with the individual and, if appropriate, their family/carer, in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of treatment and/or care using person-centred techniques to promote a culture of self-care and empowerment.
The Respiratory Unit has undergone changes upgrading equipment and infrastructure; adaptability to change is required with support from the Medicine Division and Respiratory Specialty.
Applicants must demonstrate previous substantive experience at a senior level, with motivation and skills to work with the current team in collaboration with senior nursing and clinical staff and organisational staff.
