Description

We are currently seeking a Band 7 Highly Specialist Neuro Occupational Therapist to work within an NHS service in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment to clients with neurological and/or frailty diagnoses, as well as those presenting with falls.

The role is for 22.5 hours per week, with days flexible, starting ASAP for an initial 12 weeks.

Job Role
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team to support patient care.
  • Provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment to clients with neurological and/or frailty diagnoses.
  • Support clients presenting with falls in their own homes and/or in clinic.
  • Provide appropriate guidance, advice and onward referrals.
  • Work alongside Parkinson's specialist nurses to support patient care.
  • Complete appropriate patient records in line with professional standards and Trust policy.
  • Attend relevant team meetings to support effective patient care.
Essential for the role
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Relevant experience in Occupational Therapy, ideally within neurological and/or frailty services.
  • Experience providing assessment and treatment to patients presenting with neurological conditions and/or falls.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to provide appropriate guidance, advice and onward referrals.
  • Good record-keeping skills and understanding of professional standards and Trust policies.
  • Ability to work independently across community and clinic settings.
  • Availability to work 22.5 hours per week, with flexible working days.
