We have two opportunities for experienced HR professionals to join our People & Culture Team; one permanent role for 0.5 FTE and the second a fixed term role for 12 months (1.0 FTE). This is an exciting time to join the team as we break new ground delivering an effective business focussed HR service.

We are a very busy team so the role is ideal for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, values driven HR professional.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting two Band 6 People Consultants to support the People and Culture team in delivering 'Our People' goals and providing quality HR services to divisional managers and employees, thereby enabling them to deliver excellence to service users and carers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising and supporting line managers and employees on a range of generalist HR issues.
  • Managing a busy employee relations caseload efficiently.
  • Delivering local training on Trust policies (Health & Well being, Disciplinary, Investigations). This role allows hybrid working, typically from home and from Trust HQ Uffculme Centre or any agreed site.
  • Supporting the delivery of HR clinics and helping the team to achieve KPI targets.
Success profile
  • Substantial operational HR experience.
  • Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities.
  • Pragmatic "can do" approach to challenges.
  • Sound understanding of HR practice and employment law.

Person Specification Training and Qualifications
  • CIPD Level 5 Qualified
  • Postgraduate diploma, or equivalent, gained through degree and professional HR qualification
Knowledge and Experience
  • Significant operational HR experience.
  • Understanding of employment law and good practice.
  • Knowledge of current developments in NHS/public sector affecting employment issues.
  • Experience implementing employment policies (e.g., Discipline, Grievance, Equal Opportunities, Absence Management).
  • Project experience within an HR function delivering organisational benefit or change.
  • Ability to deliver training.
  • Human Resources experience in the NHS.
  • Experience developing policies.

£39,959 to £48,117 a year (pro rata)
