Role Overview

An exciting full-time locum opportunity is available for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Community Team in vibrant Brighton. This role offers the flexibility and variety of locum work while allowing you to apply your experience across both A&E and community settings. You will work closely with the admission avoidance team and wider multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centred occupational therapy interventions in homes and community environments.

Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do
  • Deliver expert occupational therapy assessments and interventions within the community.
  • Work closely with the admission avoidance team to support early intervention and prevent hospital admission.
  • Utilise your A&E experience to provide responsive, informed support for urgent or emergency presentations.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Drive to patient homes to deliver individualised, goal-focused therapy in community settings.
Requirements / Candidate CriteriaEssential
  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Previous experience in A&E and community settings.
  • Ability to work independently across community environments.
  • Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills.
  • Access to a vehicle for community visits.
Desirable
  • Experience in admission avoidance or reablement services.
  • Familiarity with community care pathways and integrated care systems.
